Musical Instruments

Gongs are the core instruments I work with whilst holding a Sound Journey. They have the ability to change the brainwave patterns to that of a more open and receptive meditative state. The vibrations from the gongs are received on a cellular level. I also work with many other instruments in a Sound Journey – these other sounds act as scene changers for your journey

Earth Gong

Has a beautifully deep sound with the most unfathomable overtones. Tuned to C#, it contains the primordial ‘Om’ sound of the universe. It really does feel like one is connecting with ‘Mother Earth’ when this gong is played.

Symphonic Gong

A very bright sound with some very interesting harmonics. Symphonic gongs have a wide range of tone. This gong gives you the feeling that you are being washed by the crashing waves of the sound.

Native American Flutes

The enchanting sounds that are weaved by these instruments are truly of another place. One can envision mountains, rivers and the eagles soaring high above.

This is a highly tuned version of the ancient African instrument known as a Kalimba, or commonly known as a thumb piano. Clear and gentle tones that tell a very interesting story.

Tibetan Singing Bowls

These are an ancient instrument, often associated with Tibetan monks for the purposes of entering higher states of awareness and tuning one’s biofield. They come in all sorts of sizes, with different notes which are associated with the different energy centres in our body known as Chakras.

Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls

Similar concept to the Tibetan bowls, except these are constructed completely out of Quartz crystal, providing very clean tones and oscillations in sound.

This is a very interesting instrument from India that allows you to hold a particular note whilst harmonising your voice into it and exploring the overtones created by chanting.

Handpan

Also known as a Hang drum. Very rare and precious, this is a highly versatile instrument that is percussive as well as melodic. It produces a mesmerising sound that can make your whole being want to dance.

There are many other instruments and sounds that I use to weave into a Sound Journey to create ‘changes of scene’.
